The MET retreats for 2010 are only for full-time single missionaries (male and female). We are trying to target those who most need this type of spiritually refreshing retreat, therefore, priority will be given to those working in particularly isolated and remote situations (physically, emotionally or spiritually).

Registration forms can be obtained from the MET Office.

Early registration is advised – the retreats are very popular!

General information about the retreats

Jesus Christ set us an example by often withdrawing from His ministry to a quiet place to commune with His Father. MET follows His blueprint and facilitates the same opportunity for His mission force, believing that fruitfulness in ministry is totally dependent on quality communion and fellowship with Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

At the MET retreat a loving, atmosphere is created to encourage and inspire spiritual revitalization and replenishment. Each person will enjoy the rich fellowship and encouragement of fellow workers as well as precious personal times of seeking God’s face. The quality of personal service and comfort, together with the restful surroundings, ensures each return to their location of service both renewed and refreshed in body, mind, soul and spirit.

Under the leadership of Jan Whitmore and Mintie Nel , Directors of MET, an excellent experienced staff team will daily facilitate times of Biblical meditation, prayer, teaching and worship song. Every afternoon we offer personal relaxation time with the option of benefiting from one on one times of sharing and prayer. In recent times we have also added qualified medical personnel to our staff, offering one on one medical consultations.

Accommodation

We choose retreat locations which are beautifully situated and offer a good standard of service, accommodation, food and recreation facilities. Rooms typically have twin beds, some offer en-suite facilities. Single occupancy rooms are limited, but each request for a room “on their own” is considered on its own merits.

Transport

The cost of travel to and from the retreat location is the responsibility of the missionary.

Cost  We realise that most missionaries cannot afford a retreat.

·         Therefore each participant is only required to pay a £50 / $85 ( USA ) non-refundable deposit. This books their place.

·         With the participant’s permission, we also approach their home-sending church for a small donation, and in some cases the participant’s own agency also makes a small contribution. We strongly encourage the investment of Church and Mission into “rest” as well as the “task”.

·         MET raises the additional funds needed through local church sponsorship.

Our belief is that mission is partnership - Church and Mission together!
